Brief Descriptions
OtoScreen III
 - is the replacement product for OtoScreen I & II. It functions and behaves the same as legacy OtoScreen devices. It has updated electronics and improved specifications. It is more accurate, more rugged and more stable over time. Re-calibration is quicker and less expensive. OtoScreen III comes in two models: Standard and Pediatric. A gray switch cover indicates a Standard unit and a turquoise switch cover indicates a Pediatric unit (same as legacy OtoScreeners). Refer to the user manual for a detailed description of its operation.
OtoScreen IV
 - has the same specifications as OtoScreen III but the "user interface" is different. Instead of a BOOST button that must be held down to engage the 40db tone, it has a 40db-Toggle button that switches the unit back and forth between the softer tone and the 40db tone. This is convenient for testing adults and seniors when it is desireable to test at the louder 40db level first. As with the OtoScreen III device, a tone is only active when the SCAN button is pressed. The OtoScreen IV can be ordered in a Standard or Pediatric version. However, both version have the same light-brown switch cover. A sticker on the inside of the unit indicates which type it is. Refer to the user manual for a detailed description of its operation.
OtoScreen IV
OtoPulse
 - has the same specifications as OtoScreen III & IV but includes a "pulsing" capability where the active tone turns on and off every 200 milliseconds. Its user interface is different from OtoScreen III and OtoScreen IV in that once the unit turns on, a tone is continously presented even when no fingers are pressing the buttons. As with OtoScreen IV, the 40db-Toggle button switches the loudness between the softer tone and thge 40db tone. A brief "tap" on the SCAN button increments to the next frequency. Holding the SCAN button down engages the 200 millisecond pulsing. This is useful in a variety of circumstances. The OtoPulse can be ordered in a Standard or Pediatric version. However, both version have the same light-blue switch cover. A sticker on the inside of the unit indicates which type it is. Refer to the user manual for a detailed description of its operation.

OtoSimple II
 - OtoSimple II is a one-button, device intended for screening seniors. Pressing the rectangular button turns on the unit and activates a 25 db HL 1000 Hertz tone. A tone is always active when the unit is on, even if no buttons are being pressed. Pressing the button again changes the frequency and the sound level remains at 25 db HL. The tone sequence is: 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz, 4000Hz and 500 Hz. The 500 Hz tone is presented last since this may be omitted unless the room is very quiet. Like the OtoPulse above, holding the button down starts the tone pulsing on and off every 200 milliseconds. However, this unit automatically changes to a 40 db HL sound level while pulsing. When the button is releases it automatically reverts back to a 25 db HL pure tone. This is useful for testing subjects with Tinnitus (ringing in the ears). The unit shuts itself off after 1 minute if no buttons are pushed. Refer to the user manual for a detailed description of its operation.
